The Frugal Nut
57Introduction to The Frugal Nut and Mypoints
I've recently come to a realization. I am aware of certain tricks and opportunities that exsist that could save people money. I didn't know it, but others are hungry for this information. It hit me at work when I was just-in passing-mentioning the money I saved while using coupons at the grocery store. Someone that I didn't really consider needing to pinch pennies started asking me all sorts of questions about how I got the total so low. Well, then I started mentioning some other very EASY things I participated in on the internet and to my surprise she was incredibly interested and signed up right away.
I tell that story to say this-I have information that I need to share with everyone out there. I thought it was common knowledge. But evedently I was wrong. There are a handful of opportunties out there on the web that are opportunites to earn money just by clicking a link on your email. Alot of money???? no, but being dilegent, it will help buy groceries at some point when you feel you need it most....or it might be a birthday gift you give to someone in the form of a gift card. Its free, and easy, and takes little time.
That's only one example of the info I plan to share. This hub will also serve as a record of how cheap my grocery bill will be in 2010. This is so exciting to me! I only recently took up couponing. Now, I did use coupons dilegently about 10 years ago when my 3 kids were babies. But I did it all wrong. I never realized that there was a technique to using those little cut up pieces of paper with barecodes on them--but trust me when I say THERE IS!!!!
I will share all this info, but I do ask something of you. If you have any info to add to this compilation, please, please, please share it with us. In this economy, any tidbit of info that can help us lower our expenses is worth sharing....I feel it is even our patriotic duty to share. Well, maybe that's a little too much, but I promise to give you all the electronic coupons I can muster up and links to helpful sites that I know of. Let me know if any of it is helpful to you.
My first order of business for this hub is to insist that you sign up for Mypoints. The website is: Mypoints.com. Easy enough right? It is very easy, almost too easy. Here's why I think you sign up this instant- You can earn free stuff!!!! Guess what else, it comes in the form of gift cards. I have been using this site for 10 years now and nothing has been more tried and true as Mypoints. I would recomend to anyone and everyone!! Over the last 10 year I have collected hundreds of dollars in gift cards for free, yes you heard me,FREE! I have probably shopped through their site maybe 5 times in 10 years. Shopping with their partners will earn you points, which will earn you a gift card. But most of my points have been earned from just checking my email. Mypoints will send out different types of emails. Some are surveys ( I'm not patient enough to do these) you get 50 points for doing them, and 10 if you attempt and they can't use you. Another type of email is just an ad for a business and when you click at the end that says something to the nature of go to the site, you usually are awarded 5 points for just clicking the darn website link!! This, my friends, has helped put gas in my car, buy groceries from walmart, and buy Christmas presents from Toys R Us! It brilliant and wonderful and everyone should have the opportunity to get free gift cards. I said it once-you must be dilegent with you emails, and you must be patient if thats all you're going to do. But if you like to shop, your points will rack up quickly. Don't wait another second! You can't afford to miss any emails. Oh, last thing, I only named just a few ways to earn points....there are many on this site. Happy clicking-more info is coming very soon. Here's the info again
Mypoints.comIf you would like to give me credit for referal that would be appreciated. My email is afrugalnut@gmail.com just type it into the registration form. Thanks to those who remember this step. Happy clicking for now!
